Our Mission is to spread awareness in the U.S. Military Community for the physical and mental benefits of training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
The Origin of Military.BJJ —
In 2014, Jon Florendo founded Military.bjj with a mission of connecting military Veterans and active duty service members through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
That mission grew stronger when Jon reached out to Frank Concolino Jr., a
Navy Veteran and blue belt at the time who was gaining traction competing in
tournaments around the world.
As the years passed, the page went quiet for a bit — until 2017.
Frank, then pursuing his MBA with a focus on social media marketing, noticed the inactivity and reached out to Jon.
They linked up and decided to rebuild the brand from the ground up.
Since then, the growth has been incredible.
Now Military.bjj consistently reaches 2.5 million+ views per month on Instagram.
Today, the mission continues.
Jon and Frank are working on updating the website, strengthening partnerships, and preparing for the next phase of expansion — all while staying true to the community that built this movement.
This isn’t just a page.
This is a brotherhood and sisterhood of warriors, united by the mats.
